On Software Engineering…

I enjoy writing Python and JavaScript.  Though I find several other languages very interesting such as Rust, C# and Swift.  I’ll write in whatever language is best for the job however.

On Tinkering…

I’m currently tinkering with a Raspberry Pi and Arduino.  I’ve always been interested in circuits and they’ve given me an quick way to get back into it.  I last worked with micro-controllers back in college.  If I recall correctly, it was with a 8086 chip in Turbo C.  This time its all Python.

On the Fandom…

I count myself as a fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Farscape, Stargate, and Gundam to name a few.  I think Doctor Who is quite possibly the best scifi on TV these days.  I also read, my two favorite book series’ are JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings (and the Hobbit) and Patrick Rothfuss’s The Kingkiller Chronicle.

On Photography…

I use a Nikon D5000 with a Nikon 18-200mm Nikkor lens for most of my photos.  For editing, I primarily use Gimp and Picasa.
